Who is Jesus?
To understand who is Jesus, you must first understand who is God. God is the creator of all. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. This means that God is all-powerful, is everywhere and knows it all.
Ephesians 4:6 – “One God and Father of all, who above all, and through all, and in you all.”
1 Corinthians 8:6 “But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.
So then who is Jesus?
1 John 4:10- “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
Jesus was sent to this world by God, his father, as a man in flesh and bones to dwell among us and
atone for all of mankind’s sins.
Jesus gave his life for our transgressions, pain and inequities. He paid the price for us, for he was beaten, despised, rejected, humiliated, misunderstood, falsely accused and crucified on the cross because of his undeniable love for us. He died for our sins, paying the price that we could not pay. Jesus was crucified, buried and on the third day resurrected and his love last forever.
The Holy Spirit
The Trinity is comprise of God (The Father), Jesus Christ (The Son) and The Holy Spirit (God), to know the Holy Spirit is to know the Son and the Father. After Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into the heavens, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, an entity, to inhabit within the hearts of Jesus Christ’s followers. When a person becomes born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ, God resides in that person through the Holy Spirit.
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seethe him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” -John 14:17
When a person becomes born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ, God resides in that person through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has intellect, emotion, and will. The Holy Spirit was given to live inside those who believe in Jesus, in order to produce Christ-Like character in the life of a believer. In a way that we cannot do on our own. The Holy Spirit also performs a function for non-believers as well. He convicts people’s hearts of God’s truth concerning how sinful we are, needing God’s forgiveness; how righteous Jesus is. He died in our place, for our sins; and God’s eventual judgment of the world and those who do not know Him will come and they won’t have the promised eternal life.
The Gift of Salvation
Salvation is a free gift given to us by Jesus Christ on the cross. Is by faith that we received Grace and therefore the Gift of Life. The Scriptures are very clear “and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” Romans 3:24. In Christ we have life, apart from God we cannot save ourselves. Salvation is not based on anything we do and it doesn’t involve any work in our part. To accept the gift of salvation today is very easy all you must do is “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, [and] you will be saved” Romans 10:9. When you ask Him into your heart, you are allowing Him to be the Lord of your life.
